A TERRIBLE EXPLOSION".

Bridgeport (Conn.), September 17. A terrible explosion occurred this •afternoon in a small wooden building occupied by the Union Metalic Cartridge Company as a fulminating building, situated some distance west of their in. an factory. At the time of the explosion five persons were at work in the building, and all are supposed to be killed, us none have been since seen, and four bodies have been found. The building was completely blown to atoms. The ! debris was blown a great dijtance. The lake some distance from the building was literally strewn with fragments of the building. Two of the bodies were found in the lake, one with the head and arms gone. The cause of the accident is not known.
