After the usual toasts, Sargood of Melbourne presented Murdoch with a silver loving cup, and to the other members of the team a silver tankard each, in commemoration of their tour. October 5. A banquet was given last evening in honor of the Australian cricketers, and was presided over by the Lord Mayor. All the Agents- Generals and leading cricketers were present. Murdoch responded to the toasts of the Australian cricketers, and thanked Lord Harris for having effaced past grievances, Lord Harris spoke in most eulogistic terms of the cricketers, aaying he considered the Australians pre-eminent at cricket.
