LONDON. September 29. The Australians won the cricket match against the Players of England, by two wickets. The bowling of the Home team was dead on the wickets, and eight Australians were disposed of before the required 40 runs were obtainable. The weather was fine. • Steps are being taken by a number of colonists in England to present a testimonial to the Australians before they leave. Several leading Liberals, representing a considerable section of that party, are urging the Government to call Parliament together again in November. It is feared the demands of Montenegro that the Great Powers should take coercive measures against Turkey, beyond the naval demonstration, will jeopardise the latter being carried out. England and Russia will, but it is doubtful if the other Powers will consent. Tenders for the Victorian Loan of two millions amounted to eleven millions. Tenders of £97 12s. 6d. will receive 90 per cent on allotment. CONSTANTINOPLE. September 29. Turkey is sending troops to Dulcigno, in view of possible hostilities with Montegrins.
