At a dinner given by Mr. Fitzherbert, on Saturday night, the ■ Governor; in response to a toast to his health, made a long speech. He said he had intended to settle in New Zealand, had he remained, the full term. He spoke : veiy highly of of Sir Arthur Gordon^ and counselled the people ' of- New Zealand to ( be content with the colony's present pre-eminence in indebtedness.
