Wellington, 3 p. m Legislative Council. The Council met yesterday at 2.30. ; The Hon. Mr. Menzies moved that ! the Education Act should be amended so as to permit; of the Bible being read in schools. ■After a short debate, the motion was shelved by the previous question being carried on a division by 14 to 8. •• ■ ■ The Deceased Wife's Sisters' Marriage Billjvas read a third time, on a division by 14 to 9. The Council adjourned at 5 o'clock. I ■- :
