[from our own correspondent.] WELLINGTON. This Day. Mr. Moss, M.H.R., was knocked down by an express last evening, but beyond a few bruises, sustained little injury. The unemployed will hold a mass meeting this evening to consider their position, and make strong representations to the Government. AUCKLAND. This Day. The E.M. s.s. Zealandia, with the 'Frisco mails, arrived last evening. At the R.M. Court yesterday, Dugald McNaughton, charged with assaulting in succession three respectable women, returning from a Good Templar meeting on Saturday night, was sentenced to six month's imprisonment. TAUPO. This Day. The place has been convulsed with a series of earthquakes. The upper crater of Tongariro has been seen to emit dense volumes of black smoke. As yet no damage has been done. CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. The man who stole four bags of onions instead of taking them to the soup kitchen, got oft' with merely having it recorded against them that he had stolen them. He said he understood he was either to keep them himself, or take them to the soup kitchen.
