Trickett and Hanlon Matched. Wb, Sydney Herald, have great pleasure in announcing that arrangements have at length been entered into for Edward Trickett and Edward Hanlon, the Canadian celebrity, to meet and try conclusions for that much coveted distinction the sculling championship of the world. The agreement was completed by cable, audthe match will bo rowed on the Thames in November. Trickett has made up his mind to proceed to England at once. He informs us that the amount of stakes will £200 a-side. The time of the year when the match will be rowed will be, if anything, against Trickett, on account of the cold weather, and in favour of the Canadian, who hails from a cold climate ; but the champion thinks nothing of this. He will leave Sydney by the steamer Orient on the Bth of J une, and will be accompanied by his brother, William Trickett. Trickett will take with him the outrigger that he pulled his last race in against Laycock, which was presented to him by Mr. James Clark, and which was awarded the gold medal at the International Exhibition. Hanlon's weight is lOst I2lb. and his height sft 9in. Trickett weighs 12st 81b. and is 6ft 3in in his stockings.
