CORRESPONDENCE.
[Weilonot ho.d oursolve3 responsible for opinions expresaed by correspondents.] A CONTRADICTON. [To the Editor of Hie Herald.] Sir, — I was both astounded and annoyed to Bee a sort of dramatic piece in your paper last night, implying, as far as I could see, that Rees and I had made it up and combined against the Maories. When that takes place, Sir, the moon will indeed be made of green cheese. I havo not come to that yet. If most people know that I am jammed for money at present, they know also that I act fair and square, ar.d always pay Booner or later. ' s I fancy, however, that the piece was 'written by a friend of Reea', who sees that such a scheme would be Rees' only chance of pulling through. -Now, there are two parties to every bargain, and, for my part, I am not on I have a enough to do, looking after my own affairs, without helping Mr. Rees to pull through any of his grand schemes. Besides, look how my name would suffer, not one of my relations would speak to roe. — I am, &c,
Robert Cooper,
