Napier May 21st, 1880. £&UMATION OF SCHOLARSHIPS. ff^HE^Board of the Education District I of .Hawke'B Bay offers for completion TWO SCHOLARSHIPS in Class B, and" ONE in Clas 0, each of the ariihi&l value of £30, and tenable for two years. The examination will take place on July 5. ' REGUIiATIONS. The examination in Class B is open to boys andgirls attending the District Schools of HawWs Bay, who are under 13 years of age on the 10th June next. . Class C is open t» boys and girls attending either public or private schools in the Hawktfs Bay Education District, ■who are under 14 years of age on the 10th June next. Applications, stating age and the school attended by the applicant, must be forwarded to the Secretary of the Education Board, Napier, not later than June 10th. The subjects of examination will be Reading, Writing, Spelling, Arthmetic, Grammar and Composition, Geography and History. • Candidates for a scholarship must obtain 25 per cent, of the marks given for each subject, and at least 50 per cent, of the total marks obtainable to become entitled to any claim whatever for a scholarship. The holders of scholarships as a condition of receiving payment must.satisfy the Board of Education that they have been regular in their attendance at ""ftthool, and that their conduct and prohave been satisfactory.
