NAPIER,
This Day.
A discovery of coal, which gives promise to be of importance, has been made somewhere in the Seventy Mile Bush, but the actual locality has not been disclosed,
The case against Shaw, late Receiver of Municipal Rates, was yesterday concluded. The Magistrates intimated that they considered the case should go before the Supreme Court, but refrained from fully committing him, because in doing so they would probably have been necessitated in obtaining a writ of lutbeas corpus to bring him up on a charge of embezzlement.
