Chkisxchurch, 26 April.

The grain and produce market during the past week has not been particularly animated. Wheat continues to be received by rail in quantities for shipment, but sales have not been current to any extent. The arrival of tonnage lately to load has disposed of the fear entertained a short time ago of a stoppage of carriage. Wheat ; The market during the week has not been over buoyant, and buyers for shipment are not eager, influenced by the easier feeling existing in the Home market. In offering for lots, Bales locally have not been numerous, millers being pretty well supplied, and picking only the best lots. Buyers are offering 3s 9d to 3s lOd, and for best parcels 3s lid to 4s. Oats are without the slightest change, and transactions have been of the most retail character — quotations remain at Is 3d to Is 6d for milling. Potatoes : Forward sales to a moderate extent are reported at 27s 6d to 365, but prices will in a week or two be more determined. Sheep this week are more ready of sale than they have been, and prices are advanced to 2d per lb for best, to l£d and l|d. Beef also experienced a revival, and a large supply was all taken up at 22s for best. The bulk, however, sold at 18s to 20s.
