This Day. The Stella left to-day on her trip to the Southern light-houses. She will also visit the Auckland Islands, to ascertain whether there is any truth in the rumour that some sealers are cast away there. Sir William Fox has announced his candidature for Rangitikei. The Loan and Mercantile Agency have received a cablegram from London, dated April 10th, stating the tallow market is overstocked with no trade demand. Muttop, 345; beef, 33s per cwt. Leather : 4000 sides of Australian have been sold since last report, showing a further decline.
