WELLINGTON.
This Day. At tho inquest held on Saturday on the body of a little girl, named Ellen Miller, who was killed by being run over by a vegetable cart, a verdict of "Accidental death" was returned. A deputation from the Working Men's Small Farm Settlement Association waited on the Government on Saturday, urging a block of land being set apart for the small farm settlements. The reply was that the Government were already doing all they could to promote settlement on vhe land. Mr. Parris has gone to Paribaka to communicate- to Te Whiti the nature of the Commissioner's recommendations and explain the views and intentions of the Government thereupon. The Commissioners will proceed shortly to Dunedin and Hokitika, to examine any of the Maori prisoners who may desire to tender evidence. It is not probable the Commission will conclude its labors and send in their final report before the end of the
