LAST NIGHT'S ENTERTAINMENT
We think we have some sort of experience what people can do with their heads, but it was not until last night we discovered what could be accomplished with the heels. This was in the case of " Lillie," and Mr Taylor, in their extraordinary skating performances. In the face of an "awful" night of bad weatherj there was a good attendance at Macfarlane's Hall to witness the performances of these talented artistes. They did things on skates that we imagine was never done before by any others. The skating cannot be described. It must be seen to be understood, and then the difficulty comes in, how is it done. "Lillie" is very graceful, very selfpossessed, and as much at home on her skates as a young girl is with her back hair when its all her own by nature, and not having had to be paid for. Preliminary to the entertainment, all who liked were allowed to put on skates and try their skill. Many did so, and great and numerous were the falls resulting. Men who fell did not care to dhow their agony before company, and pretended to laugh it off ; but there were injuries received of a nature that no money would induce men to reveal. We have only to say that the entertainment is one well worth witnessing, and Ihe weather should not be allowed to stand in the way.
