To start at 2 p.m. MAIDEN PLATE of 20 soys. ; l£ miles, weight for age ; for horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding £20, matches and hurdle races excepted. Nomination, £3, night of general entry. To start at 3 p.m. ST. VALENTINE'S HANDICAP of 75 so vs., second horse to receive 15 soys. from the stakes ; 2 miles ; top weight, Os,t 51b. Nomination, £3 ; acceptance, £3. To start at 3.45 p.m. HACK RACE of 10 soys ; 1 mile } Oat, post entry, £1 ; for hacks that have not been trained for the Prince of Wales or Boxing Day Races. To start at 4.30 p.m. PUBLICAN'S PURSE of 25 sovfc ; 1± miles, weight for age. Entrance, £3; night of geueral entry. EULES AND REGULATIONS. The Rules of the Auckland Jockey Club will be strictly adhered to,, unless whore otherwise specified. Three horses to start for each race or only half the stokes will be given. All Entriea for Handicap Hurdles and St. Valentine's Handicap to be .sealed and addressed to the Secretary, Mssonio Hotel, Gisborne, before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Janaary 13, 18JK>, with entrance money, the name, age, and color of the horse, and name of the owner. Any Jockey riding in different colors to those described in his entry, shall be fined £1. This rule will be strictly adhered to. . Any person entering a protest will be required to deposit £2 with the Stewards and in the event of such a protest being | by them considered frivolous, the same shall be forfeited to the race fund. No entries will be received for any of the above races, except on the following conditions : — That all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing, nhtill be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them, and their decision upon all points shall befiwd. The winner of every match run on thn course to pay £2 to the race fund. Five per cent, to be deducted from winnings towards Club funds.
