LONDON. November 27. The Archbishop of Dublin has issued a pastoral letterdenouncingthe agitators who are disturbing the peace of Ireland. Tt is expected this will have an important effect in quieting the present excitement. Already the agitation appears to be cooling down, especially since the statement that the Government would adopt means by raising loans and otherwise to alleviate the prevailing distress. A meeting held to denounce the Government for arresting the leaders of the agitation, passed off quietly. The speeches on the whole were moderate in tone, and there have been no serious disturbances. Mr Gladstone, speaking at Dalkeith, favored local autonomy for Ireland. Total reserve of notes and bullion in the Bank of England, £16,002,500. The Chilians have captured Tquque. The French Chambers opened to-daj ; Gamberta counselled conciliation. The King of Denmai-k is on a visit to the Emperor of Germany. Advance in 'Wool. At the wool sales to-day, 9,531 bales catalogued. A speculative demand for combing, washed and scoured, and cross-breds, show threepence to fourpence advance.
