PARLIAMENTARY.
[By Telegraph.]
Wellington, This Day. The House met at 2.30 yesterday. Mr. Macandrew'a amendment was negatived on 27 to 6, other members having paired. On the motion to go into Committee of Supply, Sir George Grey suggested that the other business should be gone on with, bo as to allow of Government financial proposals being more fully understood by the country. The Premier said that the proposals had already been some time before the country, and after the decision of the House on Mr. Macandrew's motion, the Government could see no reason for any postponement. Mr. Lundon moved that £30,000 be placed on the supplementary estimates for Public Works North of the City of Auckland. After considerable discussion, the motion was withdrawn. The House then went into Committe on the Estimates, and passed the Postal and Telegraph Departments, which occupied till nearly 2 o'clock this morning, when progress was reported, and the House adjourned.
