MAROBO is a beautiful, liver-colored Chesnufc, standing 16 hands ; and showing a quality of Bone and Substance equal, if not superior, to anything yet bred m New Zealand. In 1876, Maroro was selected by hia breeder (Mr H. Bedwood, of Spring Creek, Blenheim) to represent his colors for the Dunedin Cup of that year, and, notwithstanding that two Victorian horses and all the New Zealand cracks were amongst the entries, was at once installed first Favorite ; and, but for a very severe passage, owing to bad weather prevailing, no doubt could be entertained but that he would have won the great avent. In 1877, as four-year-old, MABOBO was exhibited m Blenheim and received the FIBST PRIZE as the BEST rHOBOUGHBBED STALLION ON PHE GBOUND. A glance at MAROBO'S Pedigree is mfficient to show that a more purely sred animal has never yet had his services tendered m Poverty Bay.
