NAPJER. This Day. The ship May Queen, which arrived here yesterday from London, after a fine passage of 90 days. She brings 205 immigrants, all well. WELLINGTON. This Day. The cable steamer is still waiting a favorable wind to work at the cable. About thirty members left for the South m the Hinemoa to attend the Canterbury Agricultural Show. The Post says that the reason the Government will, nut go on. with the first section of the Foxton railway is the unfavorable news from home regarding the five million loan. AUCKLAND. This Day. Messrs. Hill and Morgan's store at Matakana, has been burned down. Insured for £1000. GRAHAMSTOWN. This Day. At the B.M. Court yesterday, Tamati Paetai was bound over m £100 to keep the' peace towards Henry Alley, of Hikutai. The Magistrate warned Alley against using force m pushing on the survey. Mr. James, Manager of the Caledonian mine, was fined Is., with £4 17s. costs, for using unfit rope.
