POVERTY BAY BEER AT THE SYDNEY EXHIBITION.

In these hard times it is refreshing to note that we occasionally attract the favourable notice of the outside world. This we read m a capital report given by the correspondent of the Auckland Star of the New Zealand exhibits at the Sydney Exhibition that Poverty Bay takes a very prominent place m the front rank as regards the quantity of its beer. " The Gisborne Brewery Poverty Bay (W. F. Crawford)," says the writer, " exhibits ale and porter m bottle and bulk, made from Colonial malt and hops. The bitter draught ale was exceeding good." We are certainly of opinion that the above verdict is one of which our local brewer should feel proud, the more especially as it will be admitted that the decision is a just one.
