♦ [from our own correspondent.] LONDON. October 9. Consols 97&. The total reserve in notes and bnllion in the Bank of England is £20,312,544. The wool market quiet but steady. The arrival for next auction amount to 50,000 bales. The force under General Roberts has been attacked by a considerable number of Oubulese and Ghilzaia, near Cabul. The enemy were eventually repulsed with heavy loss, and 12 guns and two standards captured. The British loss 77 killed and wounded.
