CREATING TR6UBLES. [To the Editor of tlie Herald.] Sir, — I was quite surprised the^other day, when m Gisborne, to hear and see so much illfeeling existing towards each other m such a small community as Gisborne, especially m such a depressed time as this, when we all should be striving to benefit each other, and advance the district as much as possible. As I am afraid we shall receive very little assistance from outside, it behoves every one m the community to be as economical as possible. Instead of our papers being filled with the rubbish they have bien lately, fighting for parties which I am quite sure are no benefit to any one, but a disgrace to the -district. The outside public will say that it is dangerous to go to Gisborne if one wishes to retain his good name. I consider the business of our Courts flying about the country through the Press is worse than bankruptcy. But 1 hope it is all over now,, if not, I would suggest that those parties who are causing the disturbance should be confined m a small place with the best of firearms and fight it out until one only is left and he mortally wounded. — I am &c, c. w. s.
