Dunedin, Saturday. Sharemarket.— Bank of New Zealand, £17 10s to £17 15s ; National, 60s to 62s 6d ; Colonial 42s 6d to 435. Insurance : Union, 13s ; National, 22s to 22s 6d ; South British, 48s 6d to 50s ; Standard, 11s to 12s ; Colonial, 63,6 d. Messrs Bastings, Leary and Co. held the first sale of land on account of the New Zealand Agricultural Company at Gore on the 12th inst. The Bale brought together the largest attendance ever a known m the district, 'and bidding throughout was spirited. The township of Riverdale was first" offered, and realised the high average of £50^per quarter-acre section. Mandeville was, next, put up, the same size sections averaging £26. The agricultural land near Gore brought £15 per acre. Wellington, Saturday. The prospects of the ensuing wool clip of this island are very good as regards quantity, and quality. ■ There were seventeen declarations of insolvency during the last few weeks and five deeds of assignment. The stringency m the money market continues, though the financial condition is rather more favourable than a couple of months ago.
