The Harbor Board would commence work upon a half tide wall m about a fortnight, and as soon as the Livingstone-Oamaru Railway was commenced speedy relief would be given. Tho tribes at Hauraki refuso to give
up the offending natives, and the Government is placed m its usual fix whenever such outrages have been perpetrated. The fanatical insurrectionists have taken possession of Cabul. The city has been sacked and the most revolting outrages have been committed on the inhabitants. The British troops are advancing to the relief of the city by forced marches, while a Russian army has simultaneously advanced on Merv. One gratifying bit of intelligence reaches us, which is, that the Prince of Wales is making arrangements for visiting Australia and New Zealand.
