The point m the Tail. — It has been said that the pith of a lady's letter is m the postscript, and as an illustration of this, may be mentioned the instance . of a young lady who, having gone 6\it to India, and writing home to her friends, concluded with the following words : — "P.S.— You will see by my signature that I am married. " That the same may be said sometimes of a gentleman's letter is proved by the subjoined, said to have been sent to the late Bishop of Norwioh, Dr. S — , m answer to an invitation given by him, — "Mr. O Os— — 's private affairs turn out so sadly that he' cannot have the pleasure of Waiting upon his Lordship at his agreeable house on Monday next.— -N.B. —His " wife is dead." . > The pastor of a Congregational Churoh at Mansfield, Ohio, has a telephone m his pulpit with the wires leading to the houses of several aged and invalid member* of his parish.
