ELECTIONEERING DODGES.
[To the Editor of the Herald.] Sib, — I hear with surprise that Mr. Johnson will return to-morrow without having said anything at any part of the electorate but Tauranga. Straws show how the wind blows. He goes to Tauranga, has five hands held up for him ; is apparently quite satisfied, for without making any further effort he returns. Taking this in conjunction with the j fact, that the Tauranga people look on his intimacy with Morris suspiciously, and decline to have anything to do with j him, I think we would be foolish to shut our eyes to the fact set forth so clearly by Mr. Carlow Smith on Friday night last, when he said ; " Gentlemen, if you support Johnson you are practically voting for Morris." Not a doubt of it ; every vote given away to Johnson puts' Morris one nearer the head of the poll. Electors of the Bay : see to it that ye be not led away to, even indirectly, vote for Morris.— l am &c, Patriot.
