IN pursuance of the Regulation of "Elections Act, 1870, and Amendments Act, 1871, and Amendments Act, 1874 ;" I, HOPKINS CLARKE, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of East Coast, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a writ, bearing date the eighteenth day of August, 1879, under the Public Seal of the Clerk of the Writs, Wellington, an ELECTION will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve* as Member of the House of Representatives for the said Electoral District, and that the NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES will take place at the GOVERNMENT BUILDEMGS, TAURANGA, at Noon on the Twenty-ninth day of August, 1879, and that the POLL, if necessary, will be taken on FRIDAY, the fifth day of September, 1879.
