ADELAIDE.

This Day. The Treasurer has introduced his Financial Statement. The revenue for the last financial year waa £1,661,000, and expenditure, £1,854,000. The chief deficiency being m the Customs revenue for the current year, estimated at £1,855,000 and expenditure, £2,090,000. The estimated deficit is £254,000, exclusive of the supplementary estimates. It is proposed they shall be covered by a new tax of 3d m £1, on incone, derived from interest on capital, invested m mortgages, stocks, or companies ; 3d m £1 on capital invested m business ; 3d m £1 on incomes exceeding £300 per annum.
