DEPARTURES.

< August. 6 — Hawea, for Napier and Southern Ports. Passengers :

The s.s. Rosina will leave for the East Coast to-morrow (Thursday) evening, at 8 o'clock, instead of Wednesday evening, as advertised. The Lady Bird leaves Napier for this port at 4 o'clock this afternoon. The reasons for the non-arrival from the South is that owing to bad weather and heavy Bea she did not arrive at Napier until midnight last night, and so had to remain until this afternoon to discharge cargo. The last boat will leave the wharf at halfpast nine to-morrow morning. The schooner Saucy Kate, for the Bay of Plenty, is still lying in the Bay windbound. TJie Minnie Hare is still locked in the BijtdßTvir in consequence of the north-east weather. The cutter Wahapu left the port at midnight on Monday, and arrived in Napier at 2.15 p.m. yesterday. She will load at Napier for this port with merchandise. The s.s. Wellington was nearly coming to grief on going through the French Pass on her route from Nelson to Wellington on Saturday evening. She struck on the rock, and as it was expected that she would founder, boats were got out in readiness to save the crew and passengers, but fortunately this last resource was not called into requisition. The officers and crew, by skilful management, succeeded in getting the vessel clear. The pumps were then called into use, but it was discovered that she was making very little water, consequently the captain deemed it advisable to proceed on his voyage to Wellington, where he arrived on Sunday.
