August 4. The Mouse of Commons has agreed without a division to a resolution thanking the Viceroy of India and the officers and troops in Afghanistan for their conduct during the war. A grant necessary to carry on the Zulu war was voted by the House of Commons. There was some debate, but a division was not called for. The corn market is firm and steady. Home deliveries are small. Foreign arrivals are very large. The tallow market is firm at advancing rates. Stock, 19,630 casks. Mutton, inferior sorts, 31s. to 325. 6d. ; medium 335. 6d. to 345. Beef, inferior, 28s. 6d to 30s. ; medium, 30s. 6d. ; fine, 31s. 6d. to 325.
