Mr. J. T. Rogan, for defendants, objected to the withdrawal of the cases without the costs were allowed. ' In only one case was any notice served on him . that the case was withdrawn. This 'was against U'Ren. The Court allowed coat of defendants and professional costs m the two latter cases, and struck them all out. Civil Cases. Graham & Co., v. Kate Hane. — Claim £7 lls. Mr. Brassey for plaintiff. No appearance of defendant. . • E. Woon, sworn, deposed : I know the defendant. He came to nic with reference to a summons received from Graham & Co. He admitted the debt, and signed the confession of judgment and promised to pay out of his share of land m the Whatatutu. The confession was sworn before Mr. Bromfield. There were no conditions m the confession. Judgment m default with costs. Graham & Co. v. Hemi Popata. — Claim, £63 9s. . Defendant denied the debt, and said i that Cooper had paid it. Graham & Co. v. Heheia Rang!. — No service of summons. Same v. Hakapa. —Judgment confessed. Webb v. Wright. — Judgment confessed. Webb' v. Bilham. — Struck out. Graham & Co v. Honi Kewa. — Mr. Brassey for plaintiff. There was no appearance of defendant. E. Woon : I know defendant. I saw him, and he admitted that the £100 claimed was a just claim, and he agreed to pay the amount by giving a mortgage on property. He confessed before Mr. Brassey. The defendant had the^|nmmons when he confessed. D. M. Orr : 1 am managing clerk for Graham & Co. The defendant is indebted to Graham & Co. Since the summons was issued Hone Kewa has not paid any portion of the debt. Judgment for the amount claimed with costs. ' ■ . ■ P. B. P. and P. Co., v. Cooper.— Claim £14 17s.
