We do most sincerely trust that the people of Uisborne and Poverty Bay will not allow of the golden up ortuuity tw slip past them, iu respect of exhibiting the oil which has Deeii lakeu from our spring. To send the samples to ~ the >aydney Exhibition wuuiu simply oe sheer foolishness. It would be glanced at among the many thousands of other exhibits, and nothing more would be though tof it. There can be no doubt, whatever tuat some one from tue district, who is capable of affording explanation** and giviug fullest pai ticuiars, siioulu accompany the exuibit. iJut whoever it la thai goes, Buine provision must be made to pay the cost of a passage to Sydney and back. A small subscription of a few shillings from each person in the -bay, anxious for its prosperity, would be ample for ail purposes. We would suggest that a meeting of those interested — and who are not — be at once called, and dvunite atcpa lakeu in furtherance of this object. With ihu comuielClal and agricultural depression now over-shadowing us, aud future prospects being far from brig at, we tuiuk that the project of floating the Capital fur the woiKing of these iuiner.il springs sh uld meet witn the unquaiiueu bUppurt ol every resident of the Bay.
