GISBORNE LIBRARY.

A meeting of the Library Committee was held ou {Saturday evening. The Committee decided to appoint Mr. Wilson librarian, for one month, and all books m the hands of subscribers to be called m ; .Library to be re-ar tanged, the Rev. W. McAia and E. H. Featon signified their wiiliugness to assit. The Committee went through the several statutes relative to Mechanics' Institutes and Puulic Libraries, — Resolved — * ' That the consideration of establishing a Library m connection with a Mechanics' Institute be deferred for one month — That the Mayor be requested to call a public meeting to be held the first week m August to take into consideration the desirability establishing a Mechanics' Institute and Library m connection therewith."
