Parliamentary Gossip.

WELLINGTON. This Day. Kelly, Carrington, Hobbs, and Acton Adams are now regarded as avowed Oppositionists. OPPOSITION TACTICS. It is believed that the Opposition do not contemplate moving an amendment to the address, but that being disposed of, Fox will down a direct motion of want of confidence, basing as the indictment not on the general policy of the Government, but on their administration. The defeat of the Government by the House passing a vote of censure on their administration seems certain. This vote will probable be moved m reply to the Address. Mr. Hobbs is said to be coquetting with the Opposition with the portfolio of Native Minister m view. The Times says Messrs. Swanson and Hodgkinson are leaning towards the Opposition. WANTED, A SECONDER. It is not known yet who will second the address m reply. It is stated that Goldie declines, and has given his adhesion to Fox. There was a good deal of significance m the tone of Fox yesterday when moving that Seymour be Chairman of Committees. He was evidently pointing at the weakness of the Government m leaving the nomination to the Opposition. THE FIRST DIVISION. The first division of the session took place yesterday on Macandrew's motion for a Committee on a direct steam service between New Zealand. The adjournment of the debate was carried against Macau drew ; but very curiously Sheehan voted with the ayes, and so it coald not be considered a Ministerial defeat. It is probable enough Sheehan did so on purpose, seeing defeat m prospect.
