LICENSING COURT.
[Before H. Kenrick (Chairman), J. B. Poynter, C. Gray, Esqrs., and a Native Assessor.] Application Refused. J. Vaughan, Albion Hotel. The Hotel had some three months ago been burned down, and a temporary bar erected, for which a temporary license had been granted. As no permanent Hotel had been erected in the place of the one burned down, and no indications of its being in progress, the license was refused. Transfer Refused. James King to Joseph Pickersgill. Mr. Rogan appeared for the applicant. The Chairman said no objection was made agaiust the license, but the Commissioners did not think that the locality in which the house was situated required an Hotel. Mr. Rogan asked that he might be allowed to offer evidence to the contrary. The Chairman : The Bench have made up their mind. Mr. Rogan would like to be allowed evidence to be produced. The Chairman declined, and read from the 22nd section of the Act, 1873, by which full power is given to the Commissioners to exercise the right of veto. Licenses Granted. S. M. Wilson, Argyll, D.
