DUNEDIN.
This Day. At about a quarter to 3 o'clock yesterday morning a fire broke out m a tworoomed house at the Glen, owned and occupied by Chas. Gregory, which, m a few minutes, was burnt to the ground. There was very little wind, otherwise the £)remises adjoining would have gone. The Mornington fire brigade was promptly on the spot. The building was insured for £100, and the furniture for £60 m the National. The owner states he lost £148 m notes. At a meeting of the Clutha Presbytery, a call from Gisborne, m favor of the Rev. Mr. McAara, was placed m his hands by the Presbytery. He declared his acceptance of it. The funeral of the late Mr. Brown, a Waterloo veteran, aged 91 years, took place to-day, at Mosgiel. The funeral was conducted according to military regulations.
