The wool market has suffered a further decline. March 20. In the House of Commons, to-day, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, replying to a question, said he had heard that some Russian troops had crossed the Caspian Sea, but was ignorant of the direction they had gone. Prince Gortschakoff, m reply to Lord Salisbury's despatch of the 26th January, stating that the action of Russian officials m Bulgaria and Roumelia had been contrary to the Treaty of Berlin, says that the interpretation and application principles of the Treaty of Berlin are susceptible of different opinions, but promises to support an equitable and pacific execution of the treaty. The Haytian steamer Michael, sank alter collision with the steamer Boliva. 60 persons were drowned. A Royal Commission for the Melbourne Exhibition will probably be appointed shortly under the presidency of the Prince of Wales.
