A large meeting of Lambton miners have decided to join the other colleries in the vend system. The manager of the Lambton mine declines to agree to the decision. The miners therefore have given a fortnight's notice.

D' Alberto's account of New Guinea has raised a strong feeling in Italj' in favor of colonisation. Meetings have been held and Menotte Garibaldi, with three thousand Italians will leave Italy in time to reach New Guinea in the Autumn for the purpose of colonisation.
