March 7. Yakoub Khan has deserted, and is unable to quell the tribal dispute about succession. He retired to Herat. It is rumored there is a serious quarrel between the Czar and Czarevitch. Reserve notes and bullion m the Bank of England to-day £18,500,000. The total stock of tallow m London by to-day's returns was 14,500 casks. London papers to-day violently attack the conduct of Lord Chelmsford, commander of the British forces at Natal, and demand his removal from that poaiticn. March 8. . A proclamation of the death of Shere AH, and succession of Yakoub Khan, caused an outbreak m Afghanistan. The Chiefs were successful, and Yakoub fled. The Czarevitch of Russia has left the palace m consequence of a quarrel with the Czar.
