A girls diary was found m her desk after her death recently, m one of our North Island towns, and much trouble is likely to come of it. She kept m it an account of her daily life, including the smallest incidents. Such entries
as, " come home from church with me, and kissed me at the gate, 11 and "went riding with ; he hugged me a good deal," are common. It would not matter if all the names given were those of bachelors, for she was a pretty girl, and it was no disgrace for them to kiss and hug her if they got the chance ; but such is not the case. Several of the men are husbands.
