This Day. Owing to financial difficulties, the Corporation has a series of resolutions, recommending the stoppage of all expenditure and discontinuance of the lighting of streets, tabled for consideration at the next meeting of the City Council. Governor Robinson was entertained at a banquet at the Reform Club last night. There was a large attendance. Black trackers, m pursuit of the Kelly gang, will search the Strathbogie Ranges, independantly of the Police of Victoria. There is a serious split amongst the Newcastle miners. A great reduction m coal wages ia anticipated.
