MR. J. P. HYDES' BURLESQUE AND COMEDY COMPANY.

The disappointment, arising from the non-appearance of the Georgia Minstrels, is much more than compensated by the coming of Mr. J. P. Hydes and his very talented company, which are comprised m no less than fourteen well-known actors and actresses. The names of these appear m the day bills. The company opens on Wednesday next, March the sth, at the Masonic Hall. The pieces to be represented are the Comedietta of ••Checkmate, "in which Mr. J. P. Hydes, probably the best comedian who has ever played m New Zealand, will appear, together with Miss Lizzie Morgan, Miss Alice Johns, Mr. Mack Alexander, and Mr. J. Wilkinson, This is followed by a motto sting by Mr. R. Love, concluding with the celebrated musical burlesque, which will iuclude popular songs, duets, dances and strange utterances entitled " 111-Treated II Travatore," by the full strength of the company. Mr. J. P. Hydes is a host of fun, rollicking humour, and travestie acting m himself. The company, during its short stay, will produce a change of performances, each night. In panto. mime, burlesque, burletta, and extravagant' humour, the Hyde Company will be found infinitely superior to everything of the kind previouly witnessed m Gisborne.
