SYDNEY.

This Day. A public holiday was observed to-day in consequence of the ceremony of unveiling the statue of Captain Cook in Hyde Park. The Governor performed the ceremony in the presence of ministers, military, and naval forces, and various public bodies. Upwards 20,000 spectators were present.
