The s.B. Rotorua, Captain Carey, left Hobson's Bay at 2.30 p.m. on 21st Jan. ; arrived at Hobart Town at 1.30 p.m. on 23rd, discharged 12 tons cargo, and loaded 50 tons, sailed at 8.30 p.m, experienced strong easterly winds, high seas, and a dense fog throughout the passage to 26th ; entered Bluff harbour at 3 p.m. on 27th, landed 70 tons and took on board 15 tons, left at 8 p.m., and arrived at Port Chalmers at 8.15 a.m. on 28th, discharged 150 tons and sailed at 2 p.m. on 29th ; arrived at Lyttelton on 30th at noon, landed 70 tons and took on board 60 tons ; proceeded at 10 p.m., and arrived at-WelUngton at 11.30 a.m. next day, after a fast run of 13} hours, discharged 90 tons, and sailed at 6 p.m. ; and anchored m Hawke's Bay on Ist inst. at 1.30 p.m., transhipped 30 tons and 62 sheep, and left at 6.15 p.m., arriving at Gisborne at 5 a.m. on Sunday. Light head winds Port Chalmers to Lyttelton ; thence to Castle Point, fresh S.E. winds and sea ; remainder of passage light winds and rain. A schooner, supposed to be Griffin, from Napier, was beating up the Bay, as we went to press. The tonnage of vessels m Port Chalmers on Friday last exceeded 24,000 tons. It included eleven ships over 1100 tons eachnine barques of large size, and twelve large steamers.
