First race each day to start at 12 o'clock punctually. Handicaps to be made by the Handicapper ; second horse to save stakes, except m Hack races. All entries to include names, description, and age of horses, and colors of riders. No owner or nominator shall be qualified to enter a horse other than the hack races unless both be subscriber, of at least Two Guineas to the race funds All entries (except, the Tradesman's Handicap, Hurdle Race Handicap, Turanga Stakes Handicap, and Publicans Purse, which are to be sent m at time, and as above specified addressed as below) must be m writing, and forwarded to the Secretary at the Masonic Hotel not later than 9 p.m., on the 25th January, 1879, and enclosing fee of 10 per cent, on value of stakes together with qualification. Jockeys to ride m colors as described m entry, otherwise subject to a penalty of one pound. The winner of any match run on the course to pay 20a. to the race fund. Five per cent to be deducted from winnings towards Club funds. All monies to be paid previous to starting. The Poverty Bay Turf Club Rules m all matters will be strictly adhered to.
