[from our special correspondent.] Sydney, January 8. The Government has approved of the magnificent design for the Exhibition building, covering several acres. A free fight occurred at Young's election, amongst the prominent partizans. There has been great excitement. The action of the Bulli Company's locking out their men, has been followed by the Mount Keua and Mount Pleaaant Companies doing the same. Nearly 1000 men are affected. Four seamen of the Minnie Lowe hiive been convicted of assaulting and binding the captain m New Guinea. They were released on the Court rising, it appearing that the captain had been guilty of most brutal conduct — drunkenness, and nearly setting the ship on lire. Nearly £3000 was subscribed to the recent trade fund. Melbourne, January 9. It is estimated that the rust has destroyed a fourth of the wheat m Victoria. The wheat market is easy at 4s. Bd. Sydney, January 9. The lock out miners at Woolongong keeps 600 men idle.
