WAVERLEY
90th BIRTHDAY PARTY TO MRS. ELMSLIE SEN. A birthday celebration of very great interest to her friends in Waverley and the surrounding districts was that of Airs.- Elmslic, “Hillside,"' who, on January 1, attained the great age of 90 years. Many of her children and grandchildren gathered to wish her many happy returns of , the day, and there were long distance calls and cables from the absent ones as well as many telegrams and messages from friends. The louse was beautifully decorated with flowers and the birthday cake, which was made and presented by a granddaughter, Miss Betty Elmslic, was effectively decorated with ribbon of the Clan McGregor tartan. Airs. Elmslic enjoyed every moment of her biitlday and every message. With 90 .years of experience behind her she still looks upon life with faith, hope, and a very large charity and indomitable courage. The garden at “Hillside," which is .at present gay with flowers, was admired by all.
