WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

KOHI BRANCH. The monthly meeting' of the Kohi Women’s Institute was held on Wednesday, Mrs. Mountfort presiding over a very good attendance, and welcoming a number of visitors from Wanganui and Waverley. Mrs. Howard, Makirikiri, gave a most interesting demonstration on the making of scagrass stools and also on raffia work. Mrs. Millan, Wcstmerc, Miss Young, and Miss Mead all spoke on the work of the institute and its many interests and advantages. Mesdames N. Hughes and G. Campbell, who were hostesses for the afternoon* dispensed afternoon tea which was enjoyed by all. In the competition for the best sponge sandwich Mrs. Magan was the winner of the first prize, Mrs. S. Hone coming second and Miss A. Powell third.

A most profitable and interesting meeting closed in the usual way.
