WAS STICKING INTO WALLPAPER

AUCKLAND GIRL’S RECOVERY.

An accident resulting in a. needle piercing the back of a girl, Eva Thackwell, aged, 12, occurred at the child’s home, Auckland, on Friday. The needle, which had been ‘ left threaded, was sticking in the wallpaper and entered the child’s back near the spine 4 when she leaned against the wall. The point of the needle penetrated the child’s clothing, and befoi'e she could lean forward the whole needle disappeared into her flesh. Only the cotton with which it Avas still threaded, remained to show where it entered. She was taken to hospital and the needle was removed after the exact position had been located by Xrays. The girl returned home later.
