QUOTA REQUEST.
RESISTANCE BY DOMINIONS,
It is understood the British. Empire talks will continue for a few days after the conclusion' of the World Conference. ‘
Besides dairy products, Australia and New Zealand have been asked to consider a reduction of shipments of meat and apples. . It was revealed by questions in the House of Commons that Mr. W. E. Elliot, Minister of Agriculture, has brought strong pressure to bear on the Australian and Ncav Zealand Ministers in favour of furth'er limitations of their exports of dairy products. Mr. R. Masters, New Zealand Minister of Commerce, is specially interviewing Mr, Elliot on the subject..
It is understood the Australian, and New Zealand Ministers are- strongly resisting the restriction proposals, insisting that the Empire trade figures justify their demand. A reduction should be first more drastically applied to foreign supplies.
